BC Book Prizes On Tour presented by Rio Tinto Alcan | A BC 150 Event

Four shortlisted authors will hit the road On Tour, with FREE public readings at bookstores and libraries in the Kootenays region. They are:

Heather Burt
Adam’s Peak
(Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize)

David Jones
Baboon: A Novel
(Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize)

Meg Tilly
(Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize)

Rita Wong
(Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize)

Meet the authors and get personally signed books for yourself, friends or family at the public events listed below. While On Tour, our authors will also visit select local schools, leaving behind signed copies of their books for the school libraries.


WARFIELD | Monday, April 21

After stops in Trail at Glenmerry Elementary school and J. L. Crowe Secondary, our authors will discuss their books by night at this evening put on by the Trail Public Library.

NELSON | Tuesday, April 22
Nelson Municipal Library | 7:00 pm

After visits to L.V. Rogers Secondary School and Brent Kennedy Elementary, our authors will meet book lovers at the local library. Book sales by Otter Books.

CRESTON | Wednesday, April 23
Creston Public Library | 7:00 pm

Students at Prince Charles Secondary and Salmo Elementary school will get the chance to meet our authors before they head to the public library that evening. Book sales by Black Bear Books.

CRANBROOK | Thursday, April 24
Cranbrook Public Library | 7:00 pm

The authors will meet students at Amy Woodland Elementary and Mount Baker Secondary that day. That evening, join them at their final public event on this leg. Book sales by Lotus Books.

CASTLEGAR | Friday, April 25
Authors will visit Twin Rivers Elementary this day before heading to Vancouver for the BC Book Prize Gala on the 26th.
